Bio

Stefan has lived and worked in Henley for over three decades and currently lives in the town with his partner Catherine. Stefan taught at Gillotts school for all of those decades and is known locally by ex-pupils as ‘The Legend.’

Stefan is the only HRG Councillor that is a member of all three tiers of local government and works extremely hard for Henley. As a Town Councillor Stefan has led the way on exciting projects such as Music on the Meadows, the Town Bus, the refurbishment of the toddler playground at Mill Meadows and the current putting green project.

As a District and County Councillor Stefan has managed to have more spent on Henley roads than any of his predecessors and has been championing the proposed HGV ban. He has also secured three pedestrian crossings for Henley. It’s not all roadworks and potholes though, Stefan has also fought hard for value for money and always campaigns for the best result for Henley.

Ask Stefan

How do you manage your time between the three councils?

Being a councillor with three hats on, I have to have a plan for Henley – and I try to tackle it very effectively and efficiently.

What is the most exciting project you are working on right now?

The Putting Green and the HGV 7.5T environmental weight will occupy a lot of my time. Plus getting the final grotty road surfaces fixed like New Street and Greys Hill.

How do your HRG colleagues support you in your busy roles?

HRG are a bunch of colleagues who are very supportive. They give advice and help. Sometimes we have different views BUT for the greater good of Henley, we jointly work through them to secure better things for the town. e.g. Kellie and me working with Colin to secure the skate park.
